Research - Stress Reduction Program

Interested in joining a free weekly stress reduction program that includes mindfulness and gentle yoga, nutrition and physical activity, while earning up to $340 for participating in a Yale Stress Center research study?

Stress increases the risk of lapsing into bad habits, such as smoking, drinking too much, eating unhealthy foods and sedentary lifestyles, all of which increases the risk of chronic conditions and diseases, such as hypertension, heart disease, obesity and metabolic syndrome, Type II diabetes, and some types of cancer.

Breaking the link between stress and bad habits will keep you healthy and decrease the risk of developing chronic diseases.

The focus of this program is on developing healthy lifestyle habits and decreasing stress through mindfulness and gentle yoga, lifestyle coaching, good nutrition and exercise. Mindfulness is known to decrease stress and could help you gain back control over your thoughts and behaviors.

In this program, we practice bringing awareness to our everyday activities so that we can actually change the nature of the experience. By being full aware of our thoughts, feelings, and sensations in the body, we can have more choices and freedom in our lives.

If you’re interested in decreasing your food cravings, losing weight or changing your smoking or drinking habits, you may find this course to be especially useful.
