Informed by research showing a link between high levels of stress and a number of stress-related diseases and health conditions, Clinical Services at The Yale Stress Center are designed to address this connection between stress and health through integrative whole mind-body healthcare. Our focus is on the early detection of stress related vulnerabilities, early intervention, prevention and symptom reduction and finally on recovery and prevention of relapse to disease.
A full spectrum of services is offered by an inter-disciplinary team at a range of intensity levels and in different modalities. Services focus onthe effects of stress on the mind, brain, body, and behavior, and the reduction stress related symptoms; thereby, promoting better health and optimizing functioning.
Common stress related conditions are: anxiety, worry, sadness and depression, anger, irritability, chronic pain, sleep problems, forgetting and lack of focus or inattention, stomach problems and addictive behaviors and cravings.
Reduction in symptoms and sides effects, as well as recovery from a number of stress-related physical diseases, are also addressed. These include high blood pressure, heart disease, asthma, obesity, cardiovascular disease, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and some types of cancers.
